Horses

Tomorrow I have a horse coming to be boarded.  This is the first time I've ever boarded someone else's horse.  I'm not sure how I feel about it.  I'm a bit nervous because of liability issues.  DH wanted me to do this, so I'm going to give it a whirl.  I had plans to get the liability insurance in place and have an attorney friend review all my boarding documents, but unexpectedly she has to move the horse tomorrow instead of the beginning of next month.

My two boys are doing well.  They have started to shed out their summer coats.  Winter is on its way and I'm not looking forward to it.  Hopefully we will have electricity next year which will make it much easier to care for the animals in the winter.  We have gone 6 years without power, but DH said that I can order it up at the beginning of the year.  I'm very excited to know that electricity will be in my future.  It's so sad that we rely on electricity so much, but it does make things so much easier.

Work is crazy because it is the end of the fiscal year.  I did get a bit of good news on Friday.  I'm going back to my old office.  Three more weeks of the awful drive and dealing with the BS.  Looking forward to going back and seeing all my friends in the area.  Taking a pay cut, but I think it will be worth it.

Far too long

I have been away from my blog for far too long.  Lots of things have happened since I last posted.  I have moved back to the country and I'm so glad that I did.  Living in the city just isn't for me.  The dogs are happier and I have two horses again.  I've changed jobs and am now working in Ann Arbor.  The drive is a bit longer and not very enjoyable.  The people I work with are nice, but the management staff sucks.  Its amazing to me that one group of people can make things so hard.

I recently lost my father in law.  It is has been a very hard time for the entire family.  He went in for open heart surgery, which well, and he was recovering in a rehab facility because he was having some trouble with his lungs.  All of a sudden he started having breathing issues and they said it was pneumonia and then from there everything went downhill.  He was on a respirator for almost 3 weeks before the family decided it was time to say goodbye.  It was one of the hardest things in my life.  My FIL was a very important person in my life and not having him around just sucks!  Today we are having a memorial service for him at the house.  I'm dreading it and looking forward to it.  It will be nice to see people and hear wonderful stories, but it makes things so final to me.

I'm still sewing away and have been working on another mystery quilt from our dear Bonnie Hunter.  We started it back around Thanksgiving and I'm still plugging away at it.  Only have a couple more steps to go.  I've also been sewing shirts for showing horses.  My latest creation is beautiful.  It was the first one so there are some things that I will change or do differently next time.

Anyway, I'll try to keep updating on a regular basis instead of waiting a year and a half to post anything.
